Keith’s journey is defined by a commitment to service, originally from “South Central LA” to the front lines of Iraq. As a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Keith learned early on that precision, discipline, and integrity are the foundations of effective leadership. These are the principles he now applies to the complex world of statistical policy and data governance.
After his military service, he worked in LA with detained youth. He later pursued his Master of Public Policy (MPP) from American University, specializing in Criminal and Juvenile Justice. This academic foundation launched a distinguished career at the leading federal agency focused on juvenile justice. For over a decade, he has led critical research evaluations, compliance audits, and state initiatives, ensuring that policy is rooted in evidence and equity.
While his professional life is spent navigating federal regulations and unconventional datasets, Keith’s heart remains in the community. As an elected official, he serves as a “behind-the-scenes” community hope-enabler, empowering residents and helping neighbors navigate the complexities of local government, leaving the community in a better place than when they inherited it.

When he isn’t designing databases or auditing federal grants, Keith is a dedicated husband to Omar Kamal Hasan-Towery and a proud father to twins, Kemar and Journey. He is an avid hiking enthusiast, a self-proclaimed “Data Geek,” and—unapologetically—the world’s most dedicated Mariah Carey fan.

The Hasan-Towery Household
While Keith spends his days navigating federal regulations and complex datasets, his most important “constituents” are at home. Keith is a devoted husband to Omar Kamal Hasan-Towery and a proud, high-energy father to twins Kemar and Journey. Now four years old, the twins provide a daily masterclass in negotiation, logistics, and rapid-response problem solving—skills that translate surprisingly well to both the Marines and the ANC.

When he isn’t behind a screen, you can usually find Keith on a trail. An avid hiking enthusiast, he believes that the best way to clear a “data-cluttered” mind is with a steep incline and a fresh perspective. Perferably a rugged mountain path, Keith finds his rhythm in the great outdoors.

As a self-proclaimed (and highly dedicated) lamb, Keith finds inspiration in the precision, range, and longevity of the “Elusive Chanteuse.” The music provides the perfect tempo for a deep-dive data audit.

Keith’s hobby aligns perfectly with his passion for data. As a dedicated Database Designer and Manager, he frequently devotes his free time to optimizing schemas and developing tools that empower his neighbors with easy access to local government information. For Keith, achieving a clean dataset and deploying useful data is akin to conquering the summit of a challenging hike or witnessing the proud moment when his children succeed on their own after he has guided them.
